We are an Andersen Windows reseller for the simple reason we believe Andersen manufactures the best windows and patio doors in the business.
A classic window style and very popular in the Milwaukee area and throughout Southeastern Wisconsin, a double-hung window has two sashes (a top and bottom) that both slide up/down to open and close, and tilt in for easy cleaning. A single-hung window is very similar in design and appearance to the double-hung, but only the bottom sash opens while the top sash is stationary.
Commonly referred to as a “crank window”, casement windows can come in single, double or triple casement window configurations and they are hinged on either the right or left side, which determines the direction they open. With a multi-point locking system they also offer excellent energy efficiency. Like casement windows, awning windows also have a handle to crank open, but are hinged at the top instead of the side.
While double-hung windows have sashes that slide up and down, gliding (or slider) windows have active sashes that slide left and right. They can come in standard configurations with a left and right sash, or can come in a triple gliding window configuration with a left and right sash that open, and a fixed middle sash that does not open.
Picture windows do not open and are commonly found on front and back elevations of homes. Picture windows are popular because they let in a lot of natural light, and the way they offer an unobstructed “picture” of the outside view.
Also referred to as projection windows, bays and bows are encased in a custom-build, insulated wooden shell and project our from the home with three, four or five-window configurations. Because these windows are completely custom, your StyleCraft Windows & Doors design consultant can work with you to create the perfect element for your home!
While composite windows are very popular and do offer many color options and a maintenance-free interior and exterior, many Wisconsin homeowners prefer to have the rich, traditional look of a real stained wood interior and StyleCraft offers many Andersen wood window options, all of which can be professionally stained prior to being installed. Unlike the Renewal by Andersen composite window option with a thin wood veneer applied to the interior, StyleCraft offers real wood Andersen Windows options that will never peel off and can be sanded and re-finished if homeowners wish to change colors in the future.
